Unsure of what is trending in kitchens?
Want some easy ways to incorporate design trends into your kitchen?
We have hit the half way mark of 2023, but it’s not too late to discover the latest kitchen design trends. Today I’ll give you my Part 2 of 2023 kitchen interior design trends that you can implement easily into your home.
As a designer I’m always on the look out for what is new in kitchens and researching ideas for my clients. So let me make things easier for you….and give you my ‘Part 2 Kitchen design trends for 2023’.
Here’s the second 3 design trends for you to try out in your space…
Tiled or plastered range hoods.
Range hoods are no longer an unconsidered add on in the kitchen. Whilst they are functional and essential, they are equally a design feature for kitchens in 2023.
Whether it’s tiling your range hood in the same tile as your backsplash or giving it a textural plastered finish, both looks are using the range hood as part of the overall kitchen design. Finishing your range hood in this way allows your overall kitchen design to feel more cohesive and helps prevent the range hood from being a distraction as it often can be.
Kitchen Interior Design Tips
By tiling your range hood and backsplash in the same tile all the way to the ceiling adds a powerful design statement. You don’t need to use an expensive tile to really elevate your kitchen in this way.
Your range hood can be a great place to bring some curves into your kitchen. Whether it’s through a tiled or plastered finish, a curved range hood is a strong trend that helps contrast all the other angular lines in most kitchens.
2. Dedicated coffee & beverage station.
Coffee machines have been a constant in kitchens for a while now, but a 2023 trend is a hidden coffee station within the kitchen.
Whether it’s purely dedicated to coffee or beverages in general, you will see more kitchen space dedicated to them but with the function of being able to hide all the gadgets behind cabinetry doors.
Kitchen Interior Design Tips
Consider a hidden beverage area if you need your kitchen to be hard working and practical but would struggle with the mess of everything being out ‘on show’.
If you’re looking for another interesting design feature then a hidden coffee station could be just your thing. It will give you the opportunity to add some extra personality through cabinetry colour, tile and specific lighting.
3. Backsplash stone ledge.
A backsplash stone ledge is a stone backsplash that joins up to a small ledge and we are seeing them everywhere in kitchens!
They are a perfect way to store condiments and display decorative items through using a continuous material to form the storage ledge. By using the same statement stone on your backsplash and creating a ledge it adds both function and aesthetic opportunities to your kitchen.
Kitchen Interior Design Tips
When designing your stone ledge don’t make it too deep so that it ends up looking like a floating shelf.
A depth of 50-80mm will work nicely.
Place leaning artworks and small vases on your ledge to add some personality to your kitchen.
