3 Things I've Loved in September

With a busy past few months and no project reveals to show you, I thought I would do a different sort of blog this month.

If you’ve ever wondered what sorts of things an interior designer sources and researches for clients, then this is a bit of a sneak peak. I’ve looked at lots of items over the month, but if I’d have to pick 3 things I’ve loved, here they are.

  1. Astra Walker Pot Filler

The humble pot filler is a beautiful addition to a kitchen, and it’s a great way to bring more of the metal finish (in this case Burnished Bronze) into the space.

There are lots of price points for pot fillers on the market, but I love how the Astra Walker Olde English series has the perfect proportions for a truely classic kitchen and has so many metal finishes to choose from.

The Burnished Bronze was just the right amount of moodiness for this particular project.

2. Jemima Grass Wallpaper

A close up of this beautiful wall paper from These Walls.

This delightful wall paper is part of the 7th collection produced by These Walls. I admit I have most of their wall paper samples - they are truely beautiful and am very much looking forward to using this bronzy, green paper in an upcoming project!

Another bonus - These Walls are a Queensland small business, so it’s wonderful to support Australian made too.

3. Norwest Exterior Lights

Here’s an AI mock up of a heritage project I’m working on, and I’ve specified these brushed nickel wall lights as they suit this cool toned exterior scheme perfectly!

Whilst sourcing for exterior lights for the above project, I was really impressed with the Norwest range from Beacon Lighting. I love that the lights have a substantial proportion - so they won’t look lost next to a large entry door.

They are also solid brass and will age over time which makes them a great fit for a heritage home. I’ve also specified the Wall Bracket lights for the alfresco area which makes a nice connection from the front to the back of the home.

I hope you’ve enjoyed learning a bit more about these particular items I’ve enjoyed researching this month.

If you would like help with your interior design project, either with a one-off in home design consultation or for me to work with you on a project in 2027, I’d love to hear from you.
