A Warm Modern Studio Apartment in Goodwood

If you caught my recent blog on the two-bedroom Goodwood Airbnb, you’ll remember that this property was originally one long-term rental — carefully reimagined into two beautifully distinct guest spaces.

Today, I’m excited to share the second half of that transformation which is the self-contained studio apartment.

Before Photos

Before the transformation, this Goodwood property had plenty of potential but little personality. The overall space was quite large but definitely needing some attention. My client could see the opportunity to turn this rental into something truly special - two warm, modern Airbnbs designed for comfort and relaxation.

The Client’s Brief

The brief was simple but specific: create a stand-alone guest apartment that felt just as welcoming as the larger two-bedroom space next door, with a cosy contemporary feel that would appeal to visitors looking for city accommodation.

The space needed to include everything a guest would need for a short stay; a kitchenette, sleeping area, dining nook, and living zone that was all within a smaller footprint that still felt open and cohesive.

Concept Design

The design direction for the studio apartment was guided by the same warm and contemporary aesthetic as the main accommodation. We started with mood boards and furniture layouts to map out how guests would move through the space, making sure every area served a purpose without feeling crowded.

Warm, Modern Selections

Once the layout was finalised, I shifted to finishes and furnishings. The apartment was refreshed with new carpet, updated window coverings, and a fresh coat of paint, setting a neutral backdrop for all the furniture pieces and styling items.

The result? A cohesive space that feels inviting with the cosy, contemporary feel my client wanted to achieve.

Bespoke Styling

This stage was where the apartment really came to life.

To make the studio stand out from its competitors, I introduced custom styling touches like a curated art gallery wall, a cosy reading nook, and layers of textural decor. Every piece, from the linen to the artwork, books, and ceramics, was chosen to add warmth and personality without overwhelming the small space.

The goal was for guests to walk in and instantly feel at ease - to know that every detail had been considered, right down to the mug they’d reach for in the morning.

An Apartment Stay That Feels Like Home

This warm, modern studio is proof that small spaces can still have big personality.

By combining careful space planning with inviting materials and bespoke styling, this compact apartment now feels generous, welcoming, and effortlessly cohesive.

It’s now a lovely city escape — perfect for guests visiting Adelaide who want something more personal than a hotel.
