1. Highlight pieces

Mixing new pieces with existing sentimental items for this Adelaide Hills home created a living space that feels layered and homely. In the kitchen we focussed on texture as the highlight, using a textured subway tile, rattan stools and metal pendants bring a beautiful balance to the reflective bench tops and sleek cabinetry.

2. Warm colour scheme

Using a specific colour palette of neutrals, greens, terracotta, blush and mustard tones with black accents for the living area soft furnishings produced a space that was cohesive and cosy. We added a warm stone bench top to the kitchen in contrast to the white cabinetry to ensure that a warm colour palette carried through both spaces.

3. Functionality

The combination of pets, a wood heater and a large property to maintain meant choosing a washable rug that was still soft to sit on and easy to maintain was vital for this Adelaide Hill’s property.
